SH Initial, Medial, Final - Speech Therapy Activity & Game
This activity targets the /sh/ sound in all word positions (2 initial /sh/ grids, 1 medial /sh/ grid, 1 final /sh/ grid, 3 mixed /sh/ grids). You can target /sh/ at the word level or phrase/sentence level with this activity.
Block your opponent, be the first to get 3 in a row, practice /sh/ at the word/phrase/sentence level.
Players take turns choosing a square, saying the word in it, and putting a mark (X or 0) or token on that square to claim it.
If a player is working on the target sound at the phrase or sentence level, you can ask him/her to use the target /sh/ word in a phrase or sentence during his/her turn.
The player who is first to have 3 in a row (horizontally, vertically, OR diagonally) wins.
This activity is appropriate for preschoolers and school-aged children. Since the game grids include visuals/pictures, readers and nonreaders can participate.
Easy assembly. Simply print; laminate if possible so you can use dry-erase markers to make your marks.
