This material explains short cut to find x and y intercepts of linear and non-linear equations. I use this procedure to help weaker students in the class. After going over the concept thoroughly and doing many practice problems in the class, i still have students who struggle with finding intercepts. According to them, the usual procedure is very lengthy, confusing and time consuming. For the same reason, some of them quit trying. When I show them this two step technique, they get very interested and want to do more problems. As we all know the attitude of majority of our students towards algebra, these kind of small tricks always work....There are three solved examples and eight more problems for practice with answer key.
