My students were learning about the materials that objects are made of, and I thought it would be a good opportunity to practice using correct subject/verb agreement with singular and plural nouns.
A visual word bank is included for students who need support with recognizing the object vocabulary words:
There is a word bank for students to complete the sentences including the following words:
On the front, students use the sentence starters to complete sentences about the object and the material of which it's made. On the back they can write their own complete sentences either with support from the visual word bank or not, depending on their proficiency level.
Sample sentences could be:
A gate is made of wood.
Nails are made of metal.
This is a great activity to reinforce content vocabulary and also to practice singular and plural subject verb agreement! It helped to build my students' confidence and even those who are usually reluctant to write completed both the front and the back without any complaining :).
