The first activity is a Saint Patrick's Day themed treasure hunt. This product will provide you with all the clues needed for the hunt. BLACK ink and COLOR ink versions are provided. Here's how it works, The children walk around the school and pick up the clues left behind from the leprechaun. Each clue leads to the next one until the children discover of the treasure left by the elf. The treasure can be almost anything that children would enjoy receiving. Print out your clues and place them in their locations prior to beginning the hunt. More instructions are included within this file. There is also a small writing activity which can be used after the scavenger hunt is over with.
You will need the following locations in your school in order for this scavenger hunt to work for you:
1. library, media room, or a book room

3. cafeteria or lunch room
4. computer lab
5. location where visitors to the school sign in
6. a classroom of your own
7. auditorium or place where plays/performances are held

The second activity is a printable booklet about children that get a pot of gold on Saint Patrick's Day. To make one booklet, you will need to print 4 pages, fold them, and staple. A link within this file will provide detailed instructions on how to assemble the booklets. Along with the booklet, there are sight word cards which correlate with the text of the booklet.
There's a writing activity that can be used after reading the booklet. Students will need to write what they think caused the final outcome from the last page of the booklet. (Based on the images in the booklet, students will infer that the characters were able to get the gold from the leprechaun They will make up the manner in which this was achieved.)
