Have you ever played one of those games on the table in a family restaurant? You know, the wooden triangle with holes and colored golf tees? The object is to jump one tee over another, removing each “jumped” tee as you go, to see how many you can remove, how few are left. The Speaking of Speech.com JUMP! Games are played the same way and are just as much fun!
JUMP is played individually, meaning each student has his/her own game board, making this a motivating homework assignment, as well as a therapy activity. However, a group of students can play at the same time, each working on his/her own target sound, taking turns in a small group or in pairs. Students can be working on different sounds, fluency, vocabulary, or grammar, making this an ideal game for those “mixed” therapy groups. While the point of the game is to beat your personal best (lowest number of markers left), when playing in a group the students enjoy competing against one another. Students will repeat the words and/or use the words in sentences, as assigned by the SLP.
This packet contains 5 pages of games, with single and multisyllabic words containing voiced and voiceless /th/ sounds, plus directions.
NOTE: If you previously purchased the complete set of games on the JUMP! CD from Speaking of Speech.com, you already have these games.
