My students love making silly sentences using words that have their target sounds in them. Included in this packet are 20 pictures that start with an "th, ch or sh." There are four copies of each picture, two are black and white, two are in color. One set has labels, the other does not. There are also 21 verbs included. The target sentence is set up as "The/A (target word) (verb) the/a (target word)".
Students can create silly sentences either by choosing pictures that they want or using pictures chosen from an upside-down pile, or that are given to them by the SLP. This activity can be used in a variety of ways.
Fill-in-the-Blanks Silly Sentences addresses fine motor skills (picking up cards, cutting, gluing, writing, etc), sentence structure, articulation skills, following directions, answering questions (i.e. “Can a chair really jump over cheese?”), and using imagination skills.
This activity will bring lots of giggles to the therapy room!
