I have not experienced teaching multiple grades, however I have had the wonderful blessing of teaching 1st grade for several years.
At the age of four, I began playing school and trying to teach anyone that would listen. Every Christmas that I can remember I always wanted any school related items. I have a vivid memory of writing a wish list to Santa and all it said was “school stuff.” I knew I would strive to be a teacher, because the overwhelming feeling of excitement and happiness teaching gave me. My whole life I would spend my days thinking of ideas to create something new for teaching. Teaching is not a job for me, it is a passion. I honestly feel that this is my calling in life and each day I have the chance to change lives just by doing what I love. After school, I spend hours trying to create activities and lessons that are exciting, engaging, and effective. The weekends are my favorite because I get to work as late as I want. Recently, I had to share something that I created at a workshop and the feedback I received shocked me. I never realized that the work I spent hours on would be something that other teachers would want to use, because I did not think my ideas were as good as others. Now that this has been brought to my attention, I decided to share my ideas and help other teachers fulfill their passion. I am dedicated to what I do and I put my heart and soul into every piece of it. My style of teaching is passionate, dedicated, and goal-driven.
