TEACHING EXPERIENCE

7 years teaching Kindergarten 6 years as a Reading Specialist with 2 years teaching using Orton-Gillingham strategies.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I like to make learning fun. A couple years ago a student's mother asked him what I did. He answered, "She plays games with us!". At first, I was upset with his answer. I had spent two years teaching this child to read! Later I realized if he thinks what I am doing is fun enough to be called a game, this was what I wanted. So I have set out to make teaching reading fun, and I have learned if you call it a game, it's a game!

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

My son says I'm the best mom :) I couldn't ask for a better honor!
