As I embarked on my 11th year of teaching in 2012 I had no idea what adventures were in store! After giving birth to my third child and spending the first quarter at home, I plunged, headlong into the world of Kindergarten for the first time in my career. Five years in first grade and five years as a Title I interventionist well-prepared me for the task of teaching, but I could never have been prepared for the sheer joy my students find in life and learning and the blessings they would give back to me in the process.
My teaching style can be described as student-centered, structured, flexible, and fun. I want my students to take charge of their own learning, at times I deviate from the lesson plan when learning opportunities arise, but I always begin at the common core with individual student data and assessment in mind.
