I taught grade one for one year then moved to a K-8 physical education/health position which I did for 10 years. I taught grade 7 and 8 for one year and then moved into a grade 5/6 classroom. I have taught in a grade 5/6 multigrade classroom for 4 years and am very happy with this age group. I was also a resource teacher for one year.
I am hands on and do a lot of group work and small groups. I use daily five in my classroom for language arts and have started using a daily five math structure. I enjoy using technology in the classroom and try to stay current in my classroom practices.
I had an article published in the Brandon University Journal of Graduate Studies in Education. Volume 1, issue 2, 2009.
I received my education degree from Brandon University. I received an afterdegree in special education from the University of Manitoba and most recently earned my Masters Degree in Special Education from Brandon University.
