TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught 5th grade for the last seven years and I LOVE it! I have taught in self-contained scenarios and also been departmentalized! I am proud to be an Inclusion teacher who integrates all levels of learners in to my classroom.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am a high-energy teacher that loves to help my students grow! I believe that building a relationship with my students is the most important part of my job, and my classes are always a tight-knit group of learners. I enjoy coming up with new and interesting ways to teach lessons, and my goal is to make my students excited to come to school each day!

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I am a teacher-consultant for the Middle Tennessee Writing Project, and I am passionate about helping students learn to love writing. I am also a part of a grant project called "Project IMPACT", which seeks to implement the mathematical practices and content in to teaching. I love helping students overcome their negative Math experiences and learn to enjoy the challenge of problem solving!

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I am originally from Tullahoma, TN, where I went to school growing up. I then went on to attend Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, TN, for both my undergraduate and graduate degrees. I loved my time in college so much that I now call Murfreesboro home!
