I began teaching for a short period in 3rd grade. I loved my 2 months there as the school year was drawing to an end. I then moved to the school where I currently teach. My first full year was kindergarten, with which I fell in love. I then moved to first grade with my students, where I served 3 years. I am now in 2nd grade and I absolutely love it.
I have a very active teaching style. I try to embrace the quirky characteristics of kids and harness them for the greater good of learning. My students use their pencil drumming, talking and wiggling in productive ways and I love it.
Teacher of the Year 2014-2015 Stephens County System TOTY 2014-2015
I hold a Masters degree in ECE and look forward to going through with further education. I have been accepted and will begin my Ed.S in curriculum and instruction this June.
I work with special needs students, and like to create products and learning ideas that meet the needs of diverse learners. I strive to create a classroom that serves gifted and resource all at once. I enjoy the challenge.
