TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I taught English/Language Arts in public, private, and charter schools fo rover 10 years before becoming a homeschooling mom and teacher. Now I'll be teaching a kindergartner and 4th grader this school year (2016-2017), and I'll be teaching all subjects!

MY TEACHING STYLE

Because I have a background in ELA, most of what I do focuses on reading and expression. I like my students to dig deep and think about the details in stories. Though I have my fair share of graphic organizers and worksheets, I really prefer my students to complete project-based units of study, and work apart from me as much as they can.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

While in the classroom, I was a grade-level leader, as well as a mentor to both new teachers of all subjects, and a content mentor to new English teachers.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have a B.S. and M.S. in English Language Arts Grades 7-12.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

Teaching is a difficult and underappreciated job with so many responsibilities and tasks that it can make even the most veteran teacher's head spin. Why reinvent the wheel when you can find quality materials quickly, easily, and, most importantly, inexpensively here on TPT? I've used many resources from this site, and I encourage other teachers to save themselves some time and sanity and do the same. :)
