I student taught in Kindergarten and a K-2 classroom which was a great experience. I have substituted for 3 years grades K-7. I was a Teaching Assistant in a K-5 school for second grade with an amazing teacher. I learned so much from working with her experience. I now have my OWN classroom which I love. I am a 2nd grade teacher in an inner city school.
I am very passionate when I teach. I like to act silly sometimes to keep my kids entertained and motivated to learn. I love using hands on activities such Interactive Notebooks.
In 2008, I graduated from SUNY Cortland with a dual certification in Early Childhood/Childhood Education (Birth-6th). In 2011, I graduated with my masters in Literacy (K-12) from the College of New Rochelle.
I moved from NY to NC to get a teaching job, due to it being nearly impossible to get one in NY. I love living in the south, but kind of miss the structured education. I am proud of where I was taught and who I am today. I have 2 supportive parents who would do anything for me, and have been there a lot the past 2 years. I have 2 younger brothers and 2 dogs back home.
