I have 29 years experience in visual and fine arts, reading, language arts, elementary, middle and high school education, administration and ESL. I have earned 2 masters degrees and am working on my EdD. I have worked and am licensed as a Diagnostician and Special Educator. My passion is reading and I currently work as a Reading Specialist in a Middle School in downtown Missouri.

I utilize guided reading and explicit and direct instruction in small groups. I supplement with quick and frequent exposure to sight words, phrases, and repeated reading passages. I am an intervention specialist who believes in systematic explicit instruction.

I am a wife of 28 years we are both retired teacchers and I am still working full-time in another state. I have 5 beautiful and highly educated children and 3 precious grandbabies. I have practiced the strategies I present in my own classroom with measurable success. I am currently teaching and plan to do so as long as I draw breath my lungs. Teaching is my life. If there is anything I can do to inspire and assist another teacher or parent I will do so! I believe collaboration and sharing cultivate the greatest success in educational instruction.
