I have over eight years of experience of work with youth in and outside of schools. I taught special education for two years and ELD for two years. I worked in a youth treat program for a year and after-school program at the Boys & Girls Club for three years.
I came to the United State in 1989, so I was an ELD learner who depended on a lot of visual aids and differentiated instruction. So I find myself using those technique when teaching students.

I came to the US in 1989 from Puerto Rico. I really struggled with school when growing up, and by High School I really gave up on the thought of my education. With the support of my ESL teachers, I was able to be successful and graduate. After years in the job world and earning minimum wage, I got a crazy idea to go to college. Fell in love with working with others, especially seeing them succeed, and some how I ended up in education. Still enjoying it.
