TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Advertising Art Director, turned teacher I have taught both as an Elementary Art Specialist and as an Art teacher at the Secondary level. Currently I am an Art teacher at University High School in Spokane Valley, WA.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I've taught Art at both the Elementary and Secondary levels.I believe art isn't just about the mediums but more importantly about creative problem solving skills. I believe it is essential to our children that teachers have access to quality art lessons that emphasize the process rather than the outcome. Throw away those templates and prepare to be amazed by your students creativity!

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

One of the top selling secondary Art Teachers on TpT. Received 'distinguished' level on teacher evaluation in 2014.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

BA in Studio Art - The School of The Art Institute of Chicago; Lake Forest College Teaching Credential from the University of Idaho, Moscow, ID

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

Working as an Art Director and graphic designer I learned to sell my ideas to people in the business world. As a teacher I have used this skill to help sell kids on the idea of learning. I want them to become successful creative problem-solvers that have their own individual style and point of view. My blog can be found here: http://a-space-to-create.blogspot.com/
