TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught both as an Elementary Art Specialist and as an Art teacher at the Secondary level. Currently I am an Art teacher at University High School in Spokane Valley, WA. However, I still teach Elementary school as a volunteer at our local school.

MY TEACHING STYLE

At the high school level I teach students how to go through the creative process, from thumbnails, to small studies, to final art, giving them multiple chance to learn from mistakes. Once going through the process student work comes out better because they've learned from any mistakes and gained confidence through the process. At the elementary level the process is always more important than the outcome whether they are working on a project from scratch or coloring a worksheet.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

One of the top selling secondary Art Teachers on TpT. Received 'distinguished' level on teacher evaluation from 2014-present.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

BA in Studio Art - The School of The Art Institute of Chicago; Lake Forest College Teaching Credential from the University of Idaho, Moscow, ID
