I have taught kindergarten for seven years. It was always the grade that I said I would never teach, but I have learned to love every part of our day. I did part of my student teaching in second grade, and I did the other half at an international school in China teaching fifth grade. I loved both of those experiences, but kindergarten is my home now.
I try to make our day as hands on and interactive as possible. I want to give my kindergartners the chance to still be kids while preparing them for first grade. Exploration is highly encouraged. We are constantly "just giving things a try." The more I have taught, the more important simplicity has become to me. From my classroom decorations to the activities we do, I try to make our day simple and calm.

I went to grade school at the same school where I teach which is really fun! I earned by bachelor's degree from Grace College.
I have known since the third grade that I wanted to be a teacher. I love teaching, being creative, and trying new things. My husband and I live in an old farmhouse with our sweet St. Bernard and new kitten. We love doing anything outside.
