I have been coaching swimming for seven years. I have coached ages 3-18 (a good majority of that was before I turned 18). I have been the head teacher of Children's Chapel for the last two years. That has had a range of children from 3 years to 5th grade. This year it is centered around children 3 years to 1st grade, and I have made a whole new Bible Story based curriculum, which I am excited to start posting! Along with Children's Chapel, I am an assistant in the Catechist of the Good Shepherd. I have also been doing observations in schools (Middle School-Social Studies & Language Arts, Elementary School-Autism, Middle School-Autism) for going on 6 years.
My style is to make lessons memorable. It is not practical to think that our students will remember everything we have said and taught, but they will remember the activities and the things that caught their attention and that they enjoyed doing. It is my job to make topics intriguing, so that the students want to learn and learn more.
I was named the 2014 Gwinnett County Swim League Coach of the Year.
I went through the Berkeley Lake Elementary, Duluth Middle, and Duluth High School Clusters. I am now in my junior year of college at Georgia State University.
I cannot wait to start my classroom! So much so that I have already started making notes that I could use with students based on my college classes and books :). I am excited to start posting some of those materials, and the materials I have made for my new Children's Chapel Curriculum!
