I have 5 years of teaching experience. I taught kindergarten in a suburban public school for 1 year. I relocated and now teach 1st grade in a rural school. I have spent the last 4 years teaching first grade in New York. One of my passions is creating lesson plans and curriculum that lead children to discover new information for themselves.
I follow the "give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime" philosophy. I try to set up learning scenarios with a constructivist approach for my students. Giving them a chance to experience their learning and reflect on it is the most effective way for them to learn. This year all of my teaching is done in a whole group setting. My students generally start with a whole group lesson and then break off into centers or individualized activities.

I graduated Cum Laude from Nazareth College in 2011 with my undergraduate degree in childhood education. I went directly on to pursue my MSED, also from Nazareth College, and graduated in 2013 with Magna Cum Laude honors.
In addition to teaching at my school I am also a coach for modified cross country, track, and Girls on the Run!
