I have taught Family classes at a large Bontanic Garden. I student taught half a year in 1st grade and half a year in 5th grade. I then went on to teach for 4 years in 4th grade but left to stay home with my own children. I now do private tutoring to students of all ages, but primarily elementary.
My teaching style is having a priority in knowing my students, so I can subtly and creatively motivate them to learn and be filled with wonder. There are many factors that influence educational achievement for students, yet I strongly feel that motivation and a child’s belief in their own abilities are possibly the most significant in determining if a student is willing to learn. I actively get to know the students I am teaching. I feel the better I understand what my students’ strengths, weaknesses, likes, and dislikes are, the better I am able to meet each of their diverse interests and needs. As a result, I have become proficient at designing creative lesson plans that often incorporate individualized instruction time.
I was nominated for a school district's "Teacher Who Makes a Difference Award" in 2012, I am also proud that I was able to earn a 4.0 GPA with my undergraduate and graduate degrees.
I have a bachelor degree in Elementary Education and a master's degree in Reading for Education.
I am willing to edit and revise products that I publish to better meet the needs of the students you are working with. Therefore, please do not hesitate to contact me regarding this type of matter. Major changes may be subject to additional payment.
