Great start to get your students who are learning to read. Getting my students to read can be sometimes difficult. So, I find that pre-reading is useful since it develops interest and comprehension while they read. Lesson plan included if you need.

I used this as an in-class activity for my grade 5 students. It's a good way for them to familiarize themselves with the nouns(places) around their neighborhood and practice their writing skills. You can also have them make a short speech about

My students often have problems with irregular verbs. They tend to add -ed to every verb they encounter. So, this is a great exercise for them to become familiar with and to use the correct past tense form of the verb. Please do leave me a comment

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught English for 9 years in Asia. Taiwan was my first destination where I taught kindergarten, primary and high school students. My experience also included teaching in Japan, South Korea and in China. Literature and creative writing is what I am passionate about the most. I'm currently teaching English for a well-known University and middle school in China. As well, in charge of designing an academic curriculum for both institutions.

MY TEACHING STYLE

To bring out the creativity out of my students is what I keep in my heart the most. I believe writing is not just about words on a piece of paper, but ideas and thoughts that flow out freely of one's mind. I'm the type that likes giving praise and encouragement as an incentive for my students, so that they can continuously challenge themselves in every writing and reading task that's assigned. The most important is getting every student involved in all class activities. No student should be left behind and this what makes learning fun for all.
