I have taught in the Pittsburgh area for 7 years. Content areas taught include band, orchestra, chorus, general music, and basic sound recording technology. Institutions include public, private, charter schools, and the university level. I am also a regular performer and soon to be touring musician.
I am driven to teach to inspire young musicians to learn and practice in the ways that best suit them. I try to include multiple methods of general music education including kodaly and orff, and use the concept of teaching instrumental music through performance.
Kid's First Award 2015, Outstanding Educators Award, awarded by the mayor's office of Pittsburgh 2015.
I studied Music Education at Duquesne University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and then continued on to be a graduate assistant at Duquesne to receive my Master's of Music Performance in saxophone.
I am constantly trying to better the way I teach students and the resources I use in my classroom by arranging music and activities specifically for their growth. I find that teachers pay teachers have excellent resources for this and I am excited to contribute my own work as well!
