"How teacher can use Recycle in Classroom" ".... and as soon my children saw the recycle box , they started to use theirs imagination, then I just followed there lead...." Teachers should take the advantage of the Recycling Month to introduce recycle items in the classroom . At the same time that is easy, it's also a fun way to explore different material and let the child discover different ways to use recycle as a props. Store toys sometimes is borroing because they can not change it, but with a recycle toy, same kind the toy can be in different shape, size or color. Some exemplos are: • Big butter containers you can make: Drum, • Ice-cream bucket You can make: Bust sit for dolls, Drum, use as basket, • Plastic container from meat You can use as: Baby basket, put sand/water inside, hole punch and tide 18 inches yarn, then will turn to a wagon- can be used inside or outside the classrom. • Lids of: -small margerine: can be use as a baby plates, mug holder (make the mugs with a fruit cup) - ice-cream bucket/large margerine: Food tray for house keeping table, hole punch around ( 8 ) tide christmas bells then you will have a tamborine, for outside use as a frisbe • Yellow pages: - Use a small ones at house keeping area by the phone - Wrap single or double yellow pages to use as steps, place then side by side to use as a path, make a circle with then, children can walk around or on top, use to mark place to sit down, place under the table to be used as a step for a small child, let the children find way to use it • Ask parents to save: small cereal boxes (one serving box), small bottle of juice and milk, past boxes, fruit cup. Wash if necessary then using food coloring and white paint and water, make the liquid for the bottles. For the cereal boxes, use paper plus any material that you have to make a little noise when shakes to pretend there is cereal inside. For the pasta boxes, place same paste in a large clear tape, then place by the window box and fill the rest with paper. You can cut sponge in tangerines shapes and put inside the container with yellow food coloring to looks real. • Soda bottles: Use fish line to hang bottles from the sealing or outside in trees branch. With small clear soda/juice bottles you can make science bottles, instruments (shakers) - Science Bottles: with single bottles make colorful bottles, level bottles- use food coloring to look more interesting, smalling bottles- use cotton balls inside the bottle, add drops of lemon/vanilla, scent, perfume, grain of black pepper. Make a little hole on the lid, show children how to squeeze. Conect 2 little bottles and make tornado, Very important: Don't forget to seal every bottle with hot glue gum and every box with large clear tape

MY TEACHING STYLE

I use Creative Curriculum in my classroom for more then 7 years. Portuguese language is introduce to children.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

At my last job, we had the "Quality Counts Program" for 4 years. An year before the school was forced to close (build was sold to FPL), we achieved to dreamed "⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐" . As a group we worked very hard every year helping each other so we could be recognized.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I finished my education back in Brazil (1989), my College degree is in Electronic Technology. When I started to work on Preschool, I went back to school, and every year I take all the necessaries classes to keep learning and work with toddlers.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I started to work with children 18 years ago when my daughter was born, and I started to teach in 2004. Since then, I always worked with the 2years old children. I like the challenge they always show in between the transitions that "I'm not a baby anymore" , and "I can do all by myself". Also amazes me the way they explore any thing they can touch and how they can use as a props.
