I have been a special education teacher since 2007, with a focus on education students with high-functioning autism. I have also served as a teacher Induction mentor since 2012 and as a full release mentor.
Working in the field of special education and in new teacher mentoring has allowed me to look at each student and teacher as an individual, identify their needs, and utilize the best strategies and techniques in order to ensure success. I believe that students are best served when the IEP team prioritizes the needs of the student and works as a cohesive group to help the student progress. In this process, I hold firm to the belief that all students are capable of learning, that developing confidence is essential, and that teamwork is a vital component to student success.
