Michael Celender, the founder of Accounting Basics for Students, teaches in a way that emphasizes student comprehension. Accounting is taught on a gradual, step-by-step basis, in a very visual way (plenty of pictures and diagrams) and with key words defined all along the way. After graduating from the University of Johannesburg, Michael trained in Study Technology ©, a revolutionary study system that gives educators the tools to teach with more clarity and students the ability to study far more effectively. Using this system he found that most, if not all, accounting textbooks did not explain the basic terms, concepts and procedures of accounting adequately. Seeing this “missing link” (and a few others) in existing literature, Michael decided to create his own. The result is his Accounting Basics for Students website and his Accounting Basics series of books, covering basic accounting concepts and practices, to help students and working professionals truly understand and excel at the subject.
