TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching math for the past 9 years. I started teaching 6th grade, and for the past 4 years I have been teaching 8th graders. This is the first year that ALL of my 8th graders are taking Common Core Algebra I, including special ed students.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I try to combine a combination of interesting activities while realizing that sometimes students just need to practice math. The scavenger hunts are designed to practice skills in an entertaining way. Performance tasks are designed to apply real world topics and have multiple entry ways for students with extensions for the advanced. Tests are very similar to the New York State Regents.
