MY TEACHING STYLE

I use active, kinesthetic learning, including plays, dances, and art projects. My traditional labs focus on the use of the scientific method and models to make abstract concepts understandable to middle school students.

Awarded numerous grants for summer study from my school, from Earthwatch, and from NOAA.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

Worked as a research assistant for the Smithsonian Institution from 1974-1979. Have participated in numerous summer enrichment programs including the NOAA Teacher-at-Sea program, two Earthwatch expeditions, and 3 trips to the Amazon rainforest with Environmental Expeditions (now Amazon Workshops).
