TEACHING EXPERIENCE

My name is Adriane and I am a biology and chemistry teacher. I have a very diverse teaching history having taught preschool, middle school, high school, community college, and at a four year-university (both undergraduate and masters-level courses). As a high school teacher, I have taught biology, chemistry, physics, and environmental science.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Many students find science daunting and inaccessible. My teaching style promotes self-confidence in the sciences, makes science fun, and encourages exploration and questioning. I try to make science as fun and engaging as possible (not a hard feat given how amazing science is!)

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

For my undergraduate education, I majored in biology and minored in chemistry and secondary education. Currently, I am completing my PhD in Science Education. My dissertation is focused on how students learn science more meaningfully through talk, debate, and authentic questioning in the classroom.
