As of 2018, I have seven years of ESL/EFL teaching and curriculum development experience. I am currently focused on teaching and developing curriculum for Level 1 (Newcomer) Literacy and ESL classes for immigrants and refugees with little to no educational background in their home language.
I create curricular materials that are in alignment with current research about second language acquisition and the neurology and psychology of learning. My preferred teaching approaches are a combination of: Communicative Language Learning (CLT) Task-Based Language Learning Total Physical Response (TPR) Immersion Language Learning
