I just began my second year teaching 6th grade science (On-Level & Pre-AP) at Smithfield Middle School in Birdville ISD. I also coach 7th and 8th grade girl's basketball, track, and cross country.
I'm dedicated to cultivating a positive classroom climate and culture that excites students for learning. I'm passionate about innovation in education and the power of student-centered lessons and collaboration in the classroom, which engage, and provide structure for students!

I graduated from Texas A&M University (whoop!) with a Bachelors of Science in Renewable Natural Resources. I also spent time in South Africa researching biodiversity and conservation efforts.I received my teaching certificate through an alternative certification program and I'm Generalist 4-8/ESL certified. I have also attended the RCA National Educators Conference and proudly wear the Slide Certified title!
When I'm not attending PD or planning lessons in the summer, I travel as much as I can. I spent time volunteering in Thomazeau, Haiti this summer working with youth. My classroom theme is travel inspired/wanderlust hence the store name, Adventures in Sixth Science!
