I have taught kindergarten and public pre-k (sometimes known as transitional kinder) for the past ten years.
I like to think of my teaching style as dynamic and play based. Einstein said, "play is the highest form of research" and I agree! Play is the center of learning in my room. I teach thematically, integrating art and science into our core subject areas. The moments I live for are when a child's eyes light up because they are so excited by discovering something new.
* Featured in Atlantic Magazine's article "What Boston's Preschools Get Right" * Received Boston University's Alumnae Excellence in Education Award 2017 * My classroom is used as an early childhood model for the district. * Our team passed NAEYC accreditation * I am a teaching assistant for a writing course at Boston College * I write integrated early childhood curriculum used by every teacher in our district. * My kids and I were featured in the book Engaging Students in Academic Literacies by Dr. Maria Brisk. Their work is even on the cover! Seeing that was definitely a freak out moment for me!
I majored in Early Childhood Education at Boston University, with a minor in Psychology. I went on to earn a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education in 2012.
