I have taught reading in grades 4-6 at a Title I school in Florida for the last eight years. I use a variety of strategies and resources in my classroom to help all students meet the demands of the common core standards. My classroom is a place with high expectations and high rigor.
Engage and Connect!! I love using Whole Brain teaching as a way to engage students. We use a variety of engaging strategies such as Stop and Jot, Kagan Structures, and anything I else I can do to make reading and learning fun!

I live in a small town south of Jacksonville in Florida. I have been married for 12 years and we love going to the beach on the weekends in our Jeep. My husband is super supportive of all things school related. When he's watching the Jaguars, I'm grading papers, and that's just our world. We do not have children of our own, but we have a fur baby named Casey! If I'm not working on school stuff, which is rare, I love to read, make jewelry, and spend time with my friends...all of whom are teachers! We're just down here living this Florida life.
