I am in my 14th year of teaching. I taught my first seven years in Clay County, Florida; as a fifth grade teacher for one year, and a first grade teacher for six years. We then moved back home to our home state, MI (The Mitten)! Since then, I have spent six years in second grade and am currently in my first year as a fourth grade teacher!
I try to do most of my teaching small group, so that I may meet the individual needs of my learners. While I do this, my students are engaged in independent, hands on centers or Daily 5.

I graduated from Grand Valley State University with a Bachelors in Language Arts, and a minor in Elementary Education.
My husband and I moved to Florida in 2006, so that I could teach 5th grade. After almost 8 years, we moved back to Michigan. I have a fourth grader and a first grader.
