TEACHING EXPERIENCE

My experience as a degreed secondary English teacher began in English-speaking international schools in South America. After moving to the States and starting a family, I became a homeschool mom. Currently, I am the secondary English teacher at RISE, Naples, a university-model homeschool support program where I design my own curriculum to my heart's content!

MY TEACHING STYLE

Inductive: I enjoy providing my students with specific examples and encouraging them to come up with the underlying concept or rule. Hands-on: if there is a way to involve manipulatives, I do it. Live-modeled: when I allow the kids to see what my writing process looks like in action, they feel less intimidated when they write on their own.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I live a full-plate life in a bustling household along with my pastor-husband, our three children, and a menagerie of pets named Hessa, Alexandra, Alisa, Peachy, Saturday, Trashcan, and Pizzabox.
