I have been a mathematics teacher at the middle school, high school, and college level for 30+ years. I have taught almost every high school mathematics course, including AP Calculus and AP Statistics for a number of years. I now serve as a consultant--training teachers, providing professional development, and modeling lessons in grades 6-12 mathematics classrooms. The focus of my consulting for the last four years has been primarily on the content standards and the mathematical practice standards found in the Common Core Mathematics state standards.
I enjoy teaching!! I engage students in the learning process, question them effectively, and guide them to discover mathematics at all levels. My classroom is student-centered, with my role being the facilitator. Hands-on learning activities, cooperative groups, and inquiry based lessons fill my classroom as students take charge of their learning.
