This has been my first full year of teaching K-6 music! I love working with students of all ages and seeing their eyes light up when they play instruments. Prior to teaching elementary school, I student taught with middle school and high school choir.
I believe that kids are more likely to be interested when it involves their own personal interests. That is why most of my designs include hand drawn character and references to pop culture.
While attending Northern Arizona University, I received the Golden Axe Award, given to the top 1% of graduating seniors.
I graduated with a degree in Music Education with a Choral Emphasis from Northern Arizona University in 2017. I student taught in the choir programs at Corona del Sol High School and Altadena Middle School in Phoenix, Arizona.
While I attended Northern Arizona University I was an active member and held officer positions of the NAU American Choral Directors Association and Sigma Alpha Iota chapters. In the summers, I worked at the Curry Summer Music Camp at Northern Arizona University. I was a counselor for campers grades 7th-graduated high school, and love seeing these students continue their love of music. I have also worked as Counselor-in-Training Mentor at the camp. I hope to someday strive to receive a Masters in Choral Conducting. Currently, I am the Youth and Student Activities Chair for the Arizona ACDA chapter.
