7 years teaching, I found my love for teaching art through many wonderful art teachers growing up, and of course my mom and dad. I have taught both in the private and public sector and I am currently loving teaching High School Fine Arts!
In such a competitive and difficult world we live in today I teach project based learning with real world applications. Especially for the arts, students need to see how their creative abilities can make a huge impact on the world we live in. Most of my projects take a month to complete with 3-4 projects during the semester. I love group/table projects as well as looking for individual creativity in all my students!
I am also a professional artist as well, below are a few of my honors and awards from both teaching and gallery representation. 2017- ASLD Denver Art Show 2016- Figurative, Urban Riche Gallery, Finalist 2015- National Greely Art Show, Union Colony Civic Center, Greely 2013- CAG 85th Annual Members Show, Denver Public Library, Denver 2013- Spark Mark Show, Spark Gallery, Denver 2013 - August First Friday Show, Teller Street Gallery Featured Artist 2010 – RMCAD graduation show, Philip J. I LOVE teaching, and I LOVE making art. I am lucky enough to be able to go to work where I can pursue both! Not to mention the glorious summer vacations where my wife (also a teacher) and I can go hiking, camping, and art shows here in the great state of Colorado!
