TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I taught 8th grade, Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2 through out my 17 years as a teacher. I love creating engaging lessons that help students learn.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I love to have my students busy and engaged. Hands on, inquiry, problem based are all great. I try my best to balance application with fluency. I believe that is the key to successful math education.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I am a Michigan State Spartan! Had the best teachers in my math courses there, and although I thought about engineering for a while, Dr.. Hill influenced me to become a math teacher. :)

I love teaching and have been at it my whole life. While I have only been in the classroom for 17 years, I can remember being a young girl teaching the neighborhood kids, my stuffed animals, and even my dog, Almond, if she would sit long enough. I currently teach 120 ninth graders, my six children, and sometimes my husband.
