TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught thirty plus years in special education. Most of my years have been spent with children who have emotional challenges. All of the children have coexisting conditions. Academics and developing social skills prove to be challenging. Learning and teaching are my passions.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Work with strengths It's not the behavior, it's whats under the behavior Clear, consise expectations Be predictable If s/he doesn't understand, don't teach it to her/him that same way again Remember executive skills don't grow overnight Remember what's important to a child is important Children are not textbooks, neither is teaching
