Whether I am teaching high schoolers or kindergarteners, in public or private school, in monolingual or bilingual classes, my style is always to understand who my students are developmentally and culturally, to connect with them through humor and authenticity, and to build a bridge between them (wherever they are academically and socially) and the knowledge that will serve them. I believe in a strong, scaffolded, scaled structure on which to build together, and in conveying 100% belief in their abilities. I also believe that evidence builds confidence and using scores and feedback to empower students with an awareness of their own learning.
