I am a 6th grade math teacher in my 10th year of teaching. I have also taught 7th and 8th grade math and pre-algebra as well as 8th grade science.
My teaching style is "whatever gets the kids to learn and retain what they learned!" I'm ALWAYS on the look out for new ideas and resources that will engage my students and bring learning to life for them. I like to use humor with my students and build a rapport with them. My relationships with my students are just as more important, if not more, than what I teach them.
I am very excited to have my first article published in the NCTM publication "Mathematics Teacher" sometime in 2014.
I attended Miami University and earned my BD in Middle Childhood Education with concentrations in Math and Science. I then earned a Masters Degree in Teaching from Marygrove College. I am currently working on my administrators license at the University of Dayton.
I love to hear about new workshops and professional development opportunities so please share if you have any great experiences available!
