I graduated from NWMSU in Maryville, MO with a B.S. in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. I started teaching in 1983 with 7 students in 3rd and 4th grade. I taught in Jameson, Mo for a total a total of 6 years, five years teaching 3rd and 4th grade plus one year teaching kindergarten. I started teaching first grade in 1989 in Warrensburg, Mo. I have been teaching first grade for 24 years. I am very proud and excited that this is year 30 for me.
My main goal is for the children to be able to make decisions and be incharge of their behavior. I do have a structured class but not too structured. I like my first graders to have a routine so that my students with attentiion issues can help themselves be successful. I love sharing about myself with my students and that they feel comfortable to share things with me. I love teaching!
The biggest honor is that my oldest son, who graduated last year wants to be a social studies teacher.
