* I was recently asked by our district AVID Coordinator to give permission for AVID to include these worksheets in their new book. This is a great honor. I don't mind sharing but I would lose all rights to my creation and turned her down.* 26

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I've been teaching since 2002. I have experience in a variety of grades but have established roots in Kindergarten (10 years). I enjoy creating many of my documents. I have experience with AVID, Cornell Notes, WICOR, CAFE, PLC, Data teams, MAP, ST Math, Compass Learning, Treasures, Envision, DRA, Open Court.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style is interactive and engaging; it has to be in Kindergarten! One of my favorite things about full day Kinder, is the day flies by because I'm constantly busy but in a good way.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Magna Cum Laude graduate in Psychology.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

My senior year in college, I studied under a school psychologist at the Transitional Learning Center TLC, school for homeless children, but spent most of my time helping out in the K-1 classroom. I fell in love with the classroom environment. Upon graduating, I returned to get my teaching credential.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I'm the mother of 3 very active children ages 10, 14, and 17 who participate in sports, school clubs, and lots of extracurricular activities (which means I do a lot of driving). I am also the Box Tops coordinator for my 10 yr old's school. At my school, I'm on Leadership as well as several committees. I really enjoy my work environment, the staff is like a family. Positive relationships at work have the biggest effect on student learning!
