TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching for over 5 years in both a high needs school and an affluent school. As a teacher I have been a career teacher, a mentor TAP teacher, and I am currently a TAP Master teacher. Most of my lessons are focused around the TN TEAM Rubric, but can be adapted to any evaluation rubric.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style is high interest and student focused. All of my lessons contain models for the students, bell ringers that introduce or review the learning, and exit tickets that push the students further. I also work very hard to teach grammar and punctuation using my students' work and integrating the standards within short stories, novels, speeches, and poems. Additionally, all of my units are formed based on the Common Core standards in which they are complete modules that are comprised of poems, nonfiction, and fiction thematically organized.
