TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught English language arts and humanities for 15 years. I have taught middle school for my entire career, and really enjoy this age group. It is so exciting to help kids grow and learn during this important time in their lives. I teach language arts and humanities courses that use themes to integrate language, reading, writing, and the nature of human creativity and culture. My classes examine the question: What does it mean to human in the world today?

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am very organized and detail-oriented, so I provide my students with lots of structure and ways to organize and connect lots of thematic information from different disciplines. After tackling a challenging project, I love to hear my students ask if we will do something 'fun' like that again!
