TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have extensive knowledge of the public and post-secondary education systems. I understand the importance of formative assessments being used to guide instruction, and the need to develop coherence using creativity and inquiry. I understand the importance of creating collaborative learning opportunities for students to practice communication, learn from their mistakes, and use their community to improve their own skills. As a professional writer, I have experience with grant writing and development, and editing and writing material for a variety of audiences. I have produced curriculum and differentiated lessons for educational facilities in the U.S., China, Singapore and Malaysia. I have been in leadership roles in the areas of special education, reading, assessment, behavior management, writing and technology. I have led training and support for fellow staff members, administration, neighboring school districts, and serve as an instructional coach for fellow colleagues and staff

MY TEACHING STYLE

I firmly believe that there is power in education, and because of the selfless love of my family, an amazing educator in my past, and my own walk with God I have become an educator who aims to serve and love “my kids” daily. I know that many of them come from tough homes, and many have been broken. Therefore, I make it a goal to share His spirit and message through my own actions in the classroom.
