I'm sure many of you do an activity at the beginning of the year that looks similar to this. I love having kids take ownership of the classroom rules and expectations, but of course we teachers can influence what our kiddos say! Rather than hanging

This is my favorite variation of the traditional 'Think, Pair, Share.' It is the perfect way to have students practice putting their thoughts into writing, a skill my students often struggle with. Available in color and black and white. Great

Instead of focusing on what students are doing wrong by handing out consequences, let's simply hold them accountable for their actions. Okay, you got me it's the same thing but by changing the wording we are also changing the implications for

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Upon graduating from Emmanuel College in 2015 with my Bachelor's Degree I went on to teach 1st grade summer school science in Arizona and in Fall of 2015 I stated my first full-time teaching position as a 4th grade teacher in South Dakota. Prior to graduating I volunteered as a tutor, worked as an instructional assistant, and helped lead a number of student organizations on campus.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Every student learns differently, thus I believe it is a teacher's duty to accommodate each child's learning needs. The majority of my instruction is done in small groups and in one-on-one sessions. The majority of my students are kinesthetic learners, therefore we spend lots of time learning by doing. Movement, crafts, songs, and games are just some of my students' favorite ways to learn.
