I've authored more than 40 books and educational resources for some of Australia's leading publishers. I'm also a qualified editor, consulting for international clients in curriculum design, product development and cross-cultural versioning for print and digital media. More importantly, I'm an English teacher with more than two decades of classroom experience, a senior English tutor and a homeschooler.
Teaching secondary school English for a couple of decades really helps you connect with the needs of learners. Classroom experience is the engine that has inspired and tested my products. It is great to work in these times, when endless creative possibilities are available to educators and authors. Yet with all of this potential, we still tangle ourselves up in jargon, formality, metafluff. What drives me is the need to set teachers and learners free to access useful knowledge, to think clearly, to articulate their thoughts and to pursue their own goals in meaningful ways. And ... er, to put the apostrophe in the right place.

One of the first books I owned was that auspicious tome, 'The Cow Went over the Mountain' - a Little Golden Book. My copy has proofreading notations all over it, put there when I was still 30-odd years shy of a career in English teaching. These days, I've moved on from editing favourites from my bookcase to writing and editing content for educational purposes.
